Advanced Fotona Laser To improve skin quality and Attack Acne Scarring

What is the KWMS Advanced Active Acne Approach?

It is our unique program for treating problem acne. We use our advanced Fotona lase to treat the acne you have, to improve scars you had, and prevent the acne from coming back.

How does it work and How is it different from the pills and creams I’ve used before?

Fotona offers a laser acne treatment protocol that provides a truly comprehensive solution to the problem of acne. Fotona’s precisely controlled advanced laser safely penetrates into skin to effectively target overactive sebaceous glands and to reduce the risk of developing new acne inflammation. Next, to improve the appearance of acne scars, a precise and gentle skin resurfacing process in which a laser beam is absorbed by the top micro-layers of the skin to vaporize scarred tissue and stimulate the production of new collagen in the dermis. The new collagen promotes healthy new skin and better complexion.

How long does it take?

The initial consultation and treatment takes about 45 minutes, but subsequent treatments take about 1/2 hour.

Can anyone get these treatments?

Almost everyone. We frequently treat teenagers and adults for their acne. Pregnant women may receive facial, upper chest, leg and back laser treatments. Unfortunately, if you have received Accutane (isotretinoin) in the previous 6 months, the laser can’t be used due to increased irritation and increased risk of scarring. But after 6 months, its fine to get laser treatments.

What areas can be treated?

Face, neck, back, really anywhere on the body can be treated.

When will I see results?

Usually people see results after the 1st or 2nd treatment. We recommend weekly sessions for 6 weeks followed by a single session every month or 2. Overall your skin will be much improved after 6 weeks.

Are there any side effects from the treatment?

There may be some light skin peeling after 1-3 days and slight redness of the skin from the treatment which fades in a few hours.

Does it hurt?

There is very little discomfort with the treatment.

How much does it cost?

Prices start at $450 for an individual session for the face, but packs for 5 facial treatment sessions are $250 per treatment session. The cost may also depend on your individual case and the part of your body that needs treatment.

Do I have to follow a skin regimen as well?

Doctor usually recommends a skin regimen to perform daily as well as the weekly acne laser treatments. An Obagi cleanser, toner as well as a prescription medication is usually recommended. One of the most frequently used prescriptions is Tretinoin.Tretinoin is a form of Vitamin A. These types of medications increase cell turnover in your skin which makes for healthier skin pores. The quicker turnover also releases trapped bacteria and irritating chemicals in your skin. This makes for healthier skin. The price of the medications are not included in the treatment cost. Doctor usually recommends suspending the Tretinoin 5 days prior to your laser treatment. It can make you skin more irritated after the laser treatment.

Who will be performing my services?

A board certified physician will be giving the consultation and performing the service.
